“Aha Moment” – Humility Project Ambassador & Founder, Yiesha B.

Humility Project Ambassadors!

We are so excited to kick off our launch week with participating in the “my aha moment” campaign tour sponsored by Mutual of Omaha. This process of getting our Kindness Recycled cards out there has really been a labor of love.  This started as a grass roots effort and now it has really become bigger than we expected!

The Humility Project started as a simple thought years ago after looking through a box full of memories…memories that stemmed from an incident that changed me forever.  The box was filled with cards, gifts, news clippings and well wishes from people across the country that wanted me to know that they were thinking of me.  Strangers were thinking of me at a time when I didn’t want to be thought of at all. That really did something to me because I wanted to thank them for all their kindness but I just couldn’t do it…

The words and feelings in that box brought on an extreme amount of guilt because I felt like the power of those words were just sitting there and I wasn’t honoring them properly. I became burdened by it but one day that all changed. While in the shower it hit me…how can I give back the kindness that those thoughtful strangers showed me in my time of need?  It started with that question and for almost seven years now it’s been a passion of mine to recycle kindness.

So here we are, launch week…the start of a new way to Greet, Interact, be Fashionable and start new Traditions.  Never in a million years did I think my life would turn out this way.  To read the stories on how people received the cards and how they were touched by a person’s kindness is worth everything I’ve gone through to get to this point.  This project is not about me at all and that’s what makes it so rewarding! So what’s my “aha moment”? My “Aha Moment” is not just a moment but it’s something that I look forward to on a daily basis. It’s every card given, every moment shared and every person’s attempt to do something kind for someone else! -kindness recycled.

As we officially launch this week, we will keep you posted on all our great moments, stories and milestones.  Moving forward we see nothing but success. So join us and take part in a movement that is reshaping the greeting card industry, reducing waste and impacting lives! Please follow us on facebook and Twitter where you will get all the latest updates! Tell your friends, family and strangers that there’s a new way to give greetings and it’s through our Kindness Recycled cards! :)

With love and humility,

Yiesha B.

Humility Project Ambassador – Bola O.

Humility Project Ambassadors!

As we approach our launch date we thought we’d introduce you to some of our intial Humility Project Ambassadors that came on board when we first began.  We sent out cards to friends and family throughout the United States explaining this new concept of greetings.  Some of them didn’t participate (which was expected) and the few that did participate really liked the idea.  After stepping out of their comfort zones they saw how people were touched by their kindness.  With this inspiring experience under their belts, they were gracious enough to volunteer their time to go out into their respective communities and see if other people would be receptive to the process.

We would like to introduce you to one of our first Humility Project Ambassadors.  He is a gentleman by the name of Bola O. who resides in Atlanta, GA (originally from Lagos, Nigeria):

I am an Ambassador to the humility project and one of the first people to get the cards. I remember how excited I was to give away the service card to one of my co workers, an older lady who was very sweet and put others before her. She was always encouraging other co workers by being there for them when their spirits were down, baked and brought in food for us all, remembered our birthdays and baked cakes… just a wonderful human being over all. I’d never seen anyone reciprocate the same gestures to her but she never stopped and kept doing good deeds. I was shaking when I gave her the service card in the break room in front of the other co workers who I had let in on what I was doing. Her face turned red and her smile was priceless. She registered the card and said she would pass it on. Even though I didn’t bake her a cake or did something big, the card I gave her showed how much she was appreciated. That simple act was all it took to reassure her that people valued her.

Bola O.
Atlanta, GA

We hope Bola’s experience has inspired you and we want you to be able to experience the process too!  You never know what a person is going through or what’s happening at that time in their life. We bet Bola’s co-worker will always remember that kind gesture and she can always track her card and see who else has had that very same card but a different experience.

It’s so exciting to see this grassroots effort grow into something bigger than ourselves.  We hope that you join the movement and recycle kindness along with us!  Please share the Humility Project with everyone you know. And remember, our launch is July 13th and you are more than welcome to pre-order your kindness recycled cards.

Six days and counting!…

With love and humility,

the humility project team

Newest Feature – QR codes!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

Hopefully you all have viewed our new “How To Video” for the Kindness Recycled cards.  We are getting great feedback and people are really starting to understand how the cards can be used in different ways.   We have also posted pictures of the added QR codes that will be on the back of our cards.  This wonderful addition will give people the option to quickly access information about the Kindness Recycled cards through their smart phones!

Here’s a quick crash course on the QR Codes:

1)  What does QR mean?

Answer:  QR is short for quick response.

2)  How are QR codes used?

Answer: QR codes are scannable links that can take people to different content like websites, videos, etc.

3)  How will the QR codes be used on the Kindness Recycled cards?

Answer:  The QR codes are placed on the back of the cards and it will direct users to our website.  In the future, we will eventually use them in other capacities to drive users to our videos, testimonials, etc.

4) Why did the Humility Project decide to add the QR codes to the cards?

Answer:  We want our products to push the envelope by creating innovative ways for us to communicate in this industry.  We also want to stay current and have our information be sharable in different ways.  If we want to recycle kindness effectively we definitely have to stay on top of all things creative and inventive!

If you haven’t seen the QR code design on our facebook page or website here it is!

We hope that you now have a better understanding of the importance of the QR codes.  We would love to get your feedback and hopefully you are sharing the Humility Project with others.  If you haven’t become a fan on facebook already, please join us today!

How To Video: Kindness Recycled Cards!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

Happy Monday everyone! We are getting so close to our launch party that’s scheduled July 13th!  We are really working hard so that everyone will know about our Kindness Recycled cards and products.  We are spreading the word through social media, word of mouth and to those that really understand the value of kindness.  A few supporters got together and helped us create a How To Video that creatively shows how you can use the cards!  These special people took time out of their day to make this happen because they truly believe in the project.  -kindness recycled.

We started bright and early on June 9th and our team was dressed and ready to go! Our photographer, elicia s. eddy photography did an awesome job capturing the very process of the movement of the cards.  We shot the scenes in Toledo, OH at a local coffee shop and the outdoor scenes were at a locally owned bagel shop.  The workers there allowed us to work and they helped us out tremendously!

As we shot our scenes we didn’t consider the public  showing interest as we worked.  We were so focused on getting it done we didn’t even think that our work would spark such a crowd.  People started asking questions and even pulled some of our models aside to hear more about the cards.  How cool is that?!  One lady thought it was so cool she wanted to know where she could buy them, could she have one immediately and she wanted an invite to the launch party.  Sometimes the best things come when their least expected and we didn’t expect that at all.  It was truly a welcomed surprise.  Inspired by the enthusiasm, we asked some of the people to be in our photo shoot.  They were happy to help and this is what the Humility Project is really all about.

After a few weeks of editing and planning, we produced something that was worthy of our vision.  J Anthony Music‘s song, “Nations” complimented our video perfectly.  It’s an upbeat track that really navigates you through the process of recycling kindness and the title alone speaks to where we want this project to go…to the nations!

Before we introduce our labor of love to you we would like to thank the following people:

1) elicia s. eddy photography – for donating her time and energy to this project.  Words cannot describe how grateful we are.  We wish her nothing but success…she rocks!

2) J Anthony Music – this company provided our music and the song is called “Nations”.  Isn’t it ironic that the very song we loved would fit the very meaning of our project?  We want these cards to touch lives and move to every corner of the earth. Thank you Andy for your gift of music and we hope we can assist you with your launch! :)

3) To all our non-paid models, area businesses and supporters (Angie, Betsy, Michelle, Tessa, Landon, Britton, Paiton, Lisa and our extras) – thank you so much for doing this.  We are truly humbled by your generosity!

We now would like to show you our labor of love.  Please leave your comments and join the movement as we prepare for our launch party July 13th!  We will post this video on our website, facebook and YouTube this week.  Hopefully this video will inspire you to share this project with others.  Kindness Recycled cards will be on sale the day of the launch! Join our movement today!

Here it is…Enjoy!

YAY!  Our launch party will be Wednesday, July 13th at 6:00p.m.!  We have some wonderful things ahead before we launch and we really want to utilize this time for you to get to know the Humility Project.  This company is truly building a community of “Humility Project Ambassadors” that care about sending positive energy out into the world.  We will share some stories from some of our H.P. Ambassadors and give you some ideas via Facebook and Twitter on ways to recycle kindness with our cards!

To Be Kind is to R.E.G.I.F.T.

(RE):      Greetings            Interaction         Fashion                Tradition

This is how we are creating this movement and that’s through:

Greetings:  traded greeting that not only recycle kindness but reduce waste by trading our cards and tracking them online.

Interaction:  we are challenging each other to engage in kindness on a personal level and through our online community.

Fashion: for us, kindness is the new black! We want our kindness recycled products to become a much needed accessory that you carry and give on a continual basis.

Tradition: greeting cards have been around for hundreds of years…now it’s time for them to evolve and that’s what we, The Humility Project, aim to do!

So when you buy your cards once we officially launch you will become a Humility Project Ambassador!  We are not in every state and country yet so we need you to get on board and join our community today via Twitter and Facebook.  Kindness Recycled cards will be available for purchase online starting July 13th. Have a great Father’s Day weekend and we’ll leave you with this awesome quote….

Just What Are Kindness Recycled Products?

Humility Project Ambassadors!

Our launch officially starts in July but this has been a long time coming for our humility project team.  This business has been a vision of ours for over five years and it’s so awesome to see such progress as we introduce this new concept of “recycling kindness.”  This was something that our founder came up with after so many people reached out to her from all over the world after a tragic incident took place at her place of employment.  She always wanted to thank them personally but she wanted to thank her well wishers in a bigger way.  As she looked at all the cards and gifts sitting in a personalized box she simply asked on question and that was, “How can I spread this kindness that was given to me?”

With that one simple question she came up with a movement that would recycle kindness through a product line. Kindness Recycled cards are passed along in person and then registered online. Participants can track the journey of the cards they’ve given or received through our website by their tracking numbers. Not only can you track the cards but you will also be able to read the wonderful stories of how people received them.   Last year we sent cards to friends and family to start the movement and the stories behind the cards that are traveling are awesome!  The cards have now been passed in over seven states and we are so excited that people are enjoying the experience! -kindness recycled.

Our goal has always been to change the way we look at giving, greeting, reducing waste, social networking, fashion and traditions!  We understand that this is not for everyone but we welcome everyone.  We hope that this will be the new norm for people; a normalcy where people are excited to give a Kindness Recycled product (a traded greeting) to a stranger, a co-worker, a friend, or a person that just needs an act of kindness.  Think outside the envelope and join our movement!  Kindness Recycled cards will be available in July so tell a friend, follow us on Twitter, join us on facebook and become a part of our growing family of Humility Project Ambassadors!

Official Launch – July 2011

Humility Project Ambassadors!

It’s been awhile guys but we just wanted to let you know that we are still working to make our vision come to life.  The cards are slowly moving but the interest is picking up pace. Last year we started this movement and now it’s time to launch it to the world!  From now until our soft launch in July you will hear from us via facebook, Twitter and our blog posts.  We will try to encourage, increase our fan base and keep you updated on all the exciting things that are happening.

Not only are the cards moving here in the United States but we also have a fan in China that reached out to us! Now that’s awesome.  We are in no rush to grow fast. We want to be able to grow at a steady pace so we won’t just be another “novelty” but trendsetters!  The Humility Project will set a new tradition in the greeting card industry as our social way of networking becomes fashionable through the movement of our products!  -kindness recycled.

As we work on increasing interest, please encourage your friends and family to “like” us on our facebook page.  We have so many things to share with you in the weeks ahead and we thank you in advance for all your support! Keep those cards moving and remember…our goal is to revolutionize the stationary industry and change the way we look at giving, greeting and meeting people…the new social network…thinking outside the envelope!

We are now working with a marketing team to help spread our message in a more effective way.  We have some awesome ideas on the table and we can’t wait to share them with all of you.  Remember, you are part of a movement and we are taking small steps to create a big impact!

Five Cities, Three states…making progress!

Hello H.P. Ambassadors (that has a nice ring to it right?)!

We are making progress with our Kindness Recycled cards.  These traded greetings are moving slowly but surely!  We are in no rush to create this new culture of giving.  Rome wasn’t built in a day and we know that the trades that mean the most are the ones that are thoughtfully given.  We are filled with joy when we get feedback from you.  Hearing about the reactions when people are given the cards are priceless!

We have hit five cities and three states so far.  We just launched this a few weeks ago and we are beginning to see some fruit! YAY!  Isn’t this process so much better than just touching one person with just your average greeting card?  We know that they have their place and they have been around for decades…but we, the Humility Project, are changing the face of greeting cards.  We hope that this project encourages you to think “outside the envelope”!  So please H.P. AMBASSADORS, share this experience with others and let’s saturate more areas with love and kindness!

Love you guys!

-Kindness Recycled.

Let the movement begin!

Welcome to our new site! We are so excited about introducing this project to you and we hope that you will join us in recycling kindness.  The humility project’s mission is to recycle kindness, reduce waste and transform the greeting card industry.  We want to build our online community as we grow adding more cards, products and sponsors to the project.

Our first project is the kindness recycled cards.  These cards are traded greetings that are given to whoever you wish (friend, stranger, teacher, etc.).  Kindness Recycled cards encourage people to think outside the box and rethink the dynamics of greeting each other. The humility project will revolutionize the greeting card industry by recycling not just kindness but the wonderful sentiment behind each thoughtful greeting.

Items have been traded and greetings have been given for years but not like this!  This innovative way will inspire people to make giving a part of their daily routine!  So please, join our community today!  We can’t wait to hear all your stories and see how this movement is traveling across the globe. So let’s get started and let the movement begin!
