kindness recycled…Nationally!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

This past July we launched locally here in Toledo, OH. Today we officially launch nationally!  It’s so exciting to see us become a visible stationary company that prides ourselves on being environmentally and morally conscious.  We’ve always said that all new concepts take time to spread.  Since we launched in July, our kindness recycled cards have thoughtfully moved through cities and states.  Once people join our movement they are inspired!

We are not your average greeting card company and we don’t want to be. Our goal goes beyond giving a kind sentiment just to one person. We want to our customers to “think outside the envelope” and extend their reach of kindness to strangers and people they know.    You can do this by simply registering your card through our website www.humilityproject.com and watch your card move!

We are constantly thinking of ways to improve our line by adding new cards, developing our app for users and designing custom cards for non-profits and businesses.  We can’t wait to attend our first trade show in NYC next year! The National Stationary Show has graciously welcomed us to showcase our line and we will be ready!

Our local launch was just as important as our national launch today. So many people have supported us through this journey by telling others and purchasing cards.  We are proud to say that the majority of our vendors are local and the other are right here in the USA! :)

So, please, tell a friend and join us by purchasing your cards today.  Become one of our Ambassadors and help us reduce waste, reshape the art of greeting and recycle kindness!  Attached is our National Press Release, check it out-> National Press Release .

Why are YOU here?

Humility Project Ambassadors!

We hope you all had an opportunity to enjoy your friends and family over Labor Day.  It’s so cool to hear, see and witness the joy of togetherness showcased in so many different ways. Many of you traveled, had picnics, went to a parade or just relaxed.  Whatever you decided to do we hope that you really took the time to soak it all in.

There is so much going on in world and at times we rush ourselves through life without even taking a moment to just STOP. With all the hustle and bustle of “doing” when was the last time you asked yourself, “Why am I really here?”  We hope you don’t think you are just here to take up space…everyone has a purpose and a reason to be here.

So…why are you here? Are you here just to work, to take up space, to be the life of the party or make a difference?  Well, we can’t answer that question for you but we do know why we are here. KNOWING your purpose is one of the most freeing things you can experience in life. To KNOW that the Humility Project’s goal is to change a way of thinking and not just sell a product is powerful.

Each day we are fueled by life changing stories, aha moments, card movement and just the enthusiasm from our supporters.  We had some of our facebook fans share some stories when strangers helped them out at a time when they really needed it. And because of that ONE interaction with that stranger it forever changed them.

Here is one story submitted by our facebook fan Cheryl H. :

“Years ago when I was in a bad place in my marriage and had no money for food, a lady gave me $20 to get some milk for my kids…I don’t even know her name now but I still remember her til this day.. in fact I had a FB friend in need this week who’s boyfriend left her with no money for her baby and she needed diapers. I remembered the lady all those years ago that helped me and I felt the need to give her what I could. She asked if I wanted her to repay me and I said, “no, someone helped me years ago and now I get to repay her by helping you” It felt great!!!

Cheryl was forever changed by that experience and we are sure she feels like a much better person because of it. It’s just so surprising and so unexpected to receive kindness from a stranger. The Humility Project is here to change that!  We want our Ambassadors to make it our new norm.

When you pass our Kindness Recycled cards our hope is that you all have this same effect on others, especially strangers.  The impact you can have by just making a simple decision to be kind IS purposeful.

So, again, we ask…why are you here? Are you here just to work, to take up space, to be the life of the party or make a difference? When you are  involved in our movement you ARE making a difference! You ARE changing a mindset, you ARE here to help us change the world! :)

If you haven’t joined us yet in recycling kindness, please purchase your cards today  ->http://humilityproject.com/blog/products-page/.

Changing the Game – Think outside the Envelope!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

We knew we had something special when we first started the Humility Project several years ago.  Our Kindness Recycled cards are not just given to people but we challenge you at the same time to be AND become a better person.  For us, that’s powerful and it really shows us that as we grow and move forward this movement is not for everyone!

So many times in life we are encouraged to give money to charities or even donate goods to an area food drive. Have you ever thought about what’s behind your “act” of kindness? It’s easier to give this way because you can do this “act” one time then wash your hands of it without any responsibility attached?  Most people are use to giving this way especially when it comes to greeting cards.  We aim to change that!

Greeting cards have always been a way to express how a person feels on a particular occasion.  It could be at a graduation, a funeral or even the holiday season. What if there was no occasion to give kindness? What if you didn’t have a person in mind but just the challenge to give kindness to someone who you didn’t even know?  Well, Kindness Recycled cards are challenging you to “think outside the envelope.”  When you have an envelope you usually write someone’s name on it and even seal up all those lovely thoughts you have towards an individual. We want you to take it a step further and share those sentiments of kindness not just with one person but with the world!

Kindness Recycled cards are special.  The definition of special is of a distinct or particular kind or character; unique; distinguished or different from what is ordinary or usual. We LOVE the definition of special because it totally defines who we are in this industry.  When you strive to make a difference in a unique way it takes time for people to accept it.  We are not discouraged by the road less traveled. We are excited when we see the light bulb come on when we explain to people what our “greeting cards” actually do.

Why are Kindness Recycled cards special?

  1. Kindness Recycled IS what our cards really do…we recycle kindness by having recipients register, track and trade our cards with others.
  2. We are responsible from the beginning. Our products are 100% made in the USA and we use recycled materials to produce them.
  3. We challenge you to recycle kindness throughout your day to a stranger, co-worker, etc. We don’t need a particular occasion to be kind.
  4. We believe that through our products kindness won’t just be an act but a part of our lifestyle.
  5. We are reshaping the greeting cards industry as we challenge you to rethink how and when you should give greetings.
  6. We are going to reduce waste at a tremendous amount just by recycling kindness and using our website as a point of contact for our Ambassadors.

When you buy our cards know that you have the potential to change someone’s day. Know that there is value in kindness, giving and interacting with people on a personal level.  Choose to spend your dollars on a product that values people, the earth and the power of recycling kindness.  Think outside the envelope and adopt our new way to greet.  It’s a great investment in an awesome movement! :)

Building Relationships IS the American way!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

We are so excited to work with an amazing company that really values American products.  We met I Choose American, a company that supports American made products, at the Beckman’s Trade Show in Chicago, IL.  The company’s name alone drew us to their booth.  We had the pleasure of meeting  Jessica and Michelle and they told us all about their passion for representing American made products!

Within their booth they had a variety of products representing American companies from all over the country.  The products that were displayed  were creative, beautiful and original. We walked away with a sense of hope for our economy and what they are doing really made us even more proud to be 100% American made too!

I Choose American gave us not just a sense of hope for American business but a call to action! What they’re doing is awesome and we knew we had to be a part of it. With their passion and drive, we know that they will represent our brand well.  Their company is another effective way to get our product out there to all of you and that also includes retailers, buyers, etc.

I Choose American will promote us by attending various trade shows, linking our information to their website and provide efficient ways for clients to find our products!

Yiesha & Jessica at the Chicago Trade Show

If you would like to know more about I Choose American, please visit their website and support other American made products too at   www.ichooseamerican.com.  We are currently working on all our materials for them but we wanted you all to know what’s going on beforehand. We will update you on all progress via Twitter and Facebook.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle Kindness!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

Since we’ve launched in July we have been telling any and everyone who would listen about our new way to greet.  Our strategy has never been “buy our cards” but to really encourage people to look at buying and consuming from a different perspective!  It’s hard for people to change their habits, especially when you’ve done something a certain way for a long time.  Our hope is that people will not only “think outside the envelope” but really care about how their dollars are being spent and whether their purchase benefit others as well as the earth.

Next time you buy something think Reduce. Reuse. Recycle Kindness.  By doing this you’re already thinking about being eco conscious and how you can make an impact! Let’s use our Kindness Recycled cards for your next purchase as an example (hint, hint). :)

Product: Kindness Recycled cards

Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Can this product be reused?
  2. Can others use this product?
  3. Does this company use recyclable materials?
  4. How does this product make an impact (earth, people, etc.)?

These are questions that we ask ourselves when we purchase items. So please, rethink how you shop and that’s one way to be more conscious about making a difference!  Trust us, once you make this a part of your routine it will get easier!  Why not make a eco conscious decision now and purchase our Kindness Recycled cards today?

Thanks guys for all your support and continue to support us by purchasing your cards, being KIND to others and last but certainly not least… REDUCE! REUSE! RECYCLE KINDNESS!

Kindness Recycled cards vs. Greeting Cards

Humility Project Ambassadors!

Last week we were on the road spreading our message to anyone who would listen.  We went to Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA and Chicago, IL.  Along the way we met some awesome people that were inspired not just by our Kindness Recycled cards but our willingness to just speak to them….yes, speak to them.  We weren’t pushing a religious message, swaying them who to vote for or even trying to get them to buy something…we just offered kindness.

People need a lift in their day and when it comes from a stranger it makes it better. Why? Because people don’t expect it.  Can you think of a time when your family surprised you with a gift or something nice?  You probably felt so happy and overwhelmed you didn’t expect such love to be shown. That’s the same thing we do with our Kindness Recycled cards.  We are not trying to push gifts but our cards are a nice way to brighten someone’s day.

Greeting cards are given:

  1. On special occasion
  2. To express something but can’t put it into their own words
  3. In unfortunate circumstances (sickness, sympathy, etc.)

Kindness Recycled cards are given:

  1. When you’re inspired
  2. To friends, family, co-workers, strangers, etc.
  3. To recycle kindness (traded greetings)
  4. To track and be inspired by the stories behind each pass through the Humility Project website
  5. Responsibly by reducing waste because they can be passed more than once
  6. Because it’s the new way to greet…your newest must have accessory!

Our world is awesome! It’s filled with innovative products and people who love to connect through social media like facebook and Twitter. What happened to the everyday personal interaction? Sometimes we can become so immune to new ways of communication we forget to do it on a personal level that doesn’t require a phone or a device.  Kindness Recycled cards give you the best of both worlds….personal interaction and the opportunity to stay connected with your card through our website.

We tweeted this yesterday-> Just because something has been done the same way for ages doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.  We are not saying that the way we’ve been using greeting cards are obsolete. We are saying that you can have the best of both worlds and traditions can be improved.  We understand this is not for everyone but we also understand that it is a need for someONE…we proved that in every state we went to!

We would describe our growth as a slow burn.  If you ever barbecued you know that the best fires for your grill are the ones that take time.  We are not in a rush. Making an impact in a grassroots movement doesn’t happen overnight.  We have a long way to go and we are so glad Humility Project Ambassadors are spreading across the country! Please help us continue to spread our message by purchasing your cards, telling your friends and following us on our social pages (facebook and Twitter).

Move with us, recycle kindness today! :)

Moving into more cities – Grow with us!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

Have you purchased your cards yet?  Well if you haven’t you should.  Why? Well, when you purchase our cards you automatically become a Humility Project Ambassador in your area.  Not only that but you also will be experiencing a new way to greet!  We are so inspired and excited to hear how people are reacting to our new way of giving traded greetings.  People are submitting videos on our YouTube channel, sending emails, posting messages on our facebook page AND three retailers are already selling our cards.  It’s amazing!

Jennifer M. from Genoa, OH purchased her cards online.  After she received them she decided to give one of her cards to her hairstylist!  Jennifer shared this exchange with us on facebook!  She even included a picture.

Service Card Recycled!

Her post on facebook said, “So excited to give my first “Service” card to the much deserving Jennifer B., my awesome hair stylist! Can’t wait to watch the story of this card as kindness is recycled!”

Lynda W. another Ambassador went home to Jersey and gave a SERVICE card to guess who?…Buddy from TLC’s hit show Cake Boss!  She told them all how much she loved their cakes and what they do in the community.  They thought the card were really cool!

These are just a few examples of what we dreamed of for the Humility Project.  We want people to get EXCITED about brightening a person’s day and giving people a new experience!  We are currently in Birmingham, AL connecting with retailers.  So far, they really love our concept and the southern hospitality has definitely been great.  We hope to share more exciting news with you as we travel around the country spreading our message of kindness.  Please join us and buy your Kindness Recycle cards today! ;)

Our “Aha Moment” is now online!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

Happy Monday!  A few weeks ago we shared that Yiesha, our founder, would be participating in the Mutual of Omaha Aha Moment Campaign.  Well…it’s finally online and we wanted you all to see it right here on our blog.  Yiesha had the opportunity to meet some wonderful people from all walks of life.  They shared their stories on what changed them personally and what changed the course of their lives.  For Yiesha, it was very powerful and inspiring to see that people can change at any age, in any part of the world and at any moment!  Here is a picture of some of the people that participated in Toledo, OH.   This picture was taken at the Oliver House where the “Aha team” hosted the Aha Moment Tweet Up.

So what can we learn from them?

We can change how we see things, how we look at things, how we behave…even our lifestyles as we know it.  The Humility Project’s goal is to do just that. We understand that greeting cards have been done a certain way for a long time but who’s to say that can’t change…well, we are! :)   Our patrons are spreading the word, purchasing cards and even referring retail stores to us!  With all that’s being done we know that we are on the right track to recycle kindness, reduce waste and reshape the greeting card industry.  Reducing waste is important to us and we are shedding light on the issue of the waste that’s created with some greeting cards.  Join us and help expand our reach!

We would like to thank Mutual of Omaha for allowing the Humility Project to be featured in their Aha Moment campaign! So far, we are getting great feedback.  Hopefully everything we do will not only spark interest but move people to recycle kindness with us!  Check out the video and let us know what you think!  Have a great day. :)

Ready. Set. Launched!

Humility Project Ambassadors!

We finally launched the Humility Project Wednesday, July 13th, with a huge amount of support.  So much love was shown here locally that is was overwhelming!  We had our party at Petit Fours Patisserie & Cafe’ in downtown Toledo, OH where our products are being sold.  Guests were given complimentary cards where they could actually activate their cards on site.

Our guests included local residents, friends and family coming from Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Germany, Jamaica and Alabama!  With all the different states and countries represented in that room we know that our Kindness Recycled cards will have an international reach physically and emotionally.

Media was invited to the event and we would like thank WTOL and FOX Toledo for their television coverage. Area bloggers were also in attendance and we would like to thank Moms In Heels, The Random Blogette, and Always Healthy Mom for their support.  They not only attended the event but they gave us a wonderful review on our cards!

Below are some pictures of the event!

"Moms In Media"

After the launch, we have received support from social media, residents and area shops that would like to carry our cards.  Currently we are in two locations here in Toledo, OH (Sweet Cheeks and Petit Fours) and all of our other orders have come from online sales.  Since the event, we’ve shipped to three different states! :)

Our local launch was a great success filled with an energy that’s needed for a new product to take off and succeed.  Greeting cards have been in existence for ages and we understand that it takes time for people to try something different. To rethink the way greetings are given is a process.  We have a long way to go to really capture a new audience and create a movement that reduces waste, recycles kindness and reshapes the greeting card industry!  Change doesn’t happen overnight but guess what?…it DOES HAPPEN! :) Join our movement today, purchase your cards and become an Humility Project Ambassador!

Thanks again to EVERYONE that attended our launch, prayed, purchased cards, mentioned us, etc.  All your support is and forever will be greatly appreciated. -Kindness Recycled.

Humility Project Ambassadors!

Our launch is tomorrow and we are so excited about what’s been happening the past few weeks. Humility Project Ambassadors are sending us great feedback. Retailers are inquiring about our unique way to recycle kindness and we have pre orders that we didn’t even plan for!  WOW!  It’s awesome to see so many people wanting to try something new and really want to become a part of our movement to make a difference by the simple act of recycling kindness!

As we grow, we will continue to share our Humility Project Ambassador stories with you.  Some of them are really being creative and they’re using their cards as a way to compliment their colleagues like Terrilynn C. in Charlotte, NC. She actually sent us a video from an event that she organized!
